Two things here; Siobhan has a Burlap Tent (the small, one-person tent) that, when you pack it up, gives you a second tent. The Kings Keys you take from the cold, dead claws of the Goblin King don't vanish like they should when you use them.

Tents and Firewood don't work, period, I'm fairly sure I'll find plenty of other items to add to this list in time.

Yes they do, unless the server is in the middle of a cascade failure. In which case, as Catweazle so eloquently put it: "Nothing works"
